[EN] 'Dawn of Regret' is the English title of the comic 'Disculpa la Angustia'

I'm very happy to announce that this year I have been working a lot and have produced a second comic in English with the translation by my American friend Kodi Dobbs. Once we finished the project of the English version of "De Noche hace Calor," we started working on the English version of "Disculpa la Angustia."

Regarding the project, I decided to keep it secret from the public, and it started as an experimental endeavor. Before working with Kodi, I told him that there is an 8-year gap between the previous comic and this one, so my way of narrating and writing had matured quite a bit. We joked about how serious this episode is, but he really liked the story.

The process was similar to the previous project: I did my translation, and Kodi helped with localization. At first, I thought translating it would be more difficult because of the amount of text, but I realized everything went more smoothly due to the literary genre.

"De Noche hace Calor" is a comedy comic with quite Nicaraguan humor, and it had to be completely adapted for the English version, with many jokes changed to fit the new context so they could be understood in another language. "Disculpa la Angustia" was written differently, and the translation was quite literal; only a few dialogues were adapted to American culture to better convey the context.

The title was chosen as a reference to the English adaptation of "De Noche hace Calor," which is "Night of Your Life," and since this comic is a prequel, I wanted to keep using the times of day, so the translation became "Dawn of Regret." I liked playing with that idea.

Because the artistic concept of "Disculpa la Angustia" depicts a sunset in the art, I decided to change the concept to a sunrise for the English version, which involved changing the colors.

While designing one of the main artworks—the sunrise—I made, it made me feel quite "anguished" and "celestial" for personal reasons, almost like a form of personal acceptance.
